Marketing 2 Seniors | Meet Author: Diane Masson
Speaker, Blogger & Senior Living & Marketing Expert
“Diane Twohy Masson is proud to share that she has increased the occupancy to 100% at Continuing Care Retirement Communities, Independent Living Retirement Communities and Assisted Living Communities in multiple states.”
Currently, Masson is setting move-in records as the regional marketing director of two debt-free Continuing Care Retirement Communities in Southern California – Freedom Village in Lake Forest and The Village in Hemet, California. These two CCRC communities were selling as rentals when Diane arrived on the properties. Through her coaching and sale strategies, both communities are now selling as entrance fee models. Sales have sky rocketed! She passionately writes a weekly senior living blog, loves coaching, speaking, social media and being a senior housing sales and marketing trainer.
Diane Twohy Masson is an award-winning certified aging services professional (CASP) with a B.S. in business management and a minor in marketing from Central Washington University. She has also earned advanced social media certification. Masson has worked in senior housing marketing since 1999, after helping her mother find a retirement community. Masson’s management expertise, strategies, and sales team coaching have been instrumental in marketing existing continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), assisted living communities, and developing brand new urban CCRCs in Washington, Oregon, and California.
Masson develops strategies to keep sales volume high, creates brands that become household names with seniors, and orchestrates the right media marketing mix to bring customers to the door, but understands it takes more than that. Existing independent retirement communities have increased from 90 percent to 100 percent occupancy in just over a year under Masson’s leadership.
During a tough economic time, Masson’s marketing strategies with a brand new CCRC led to 185 apartment home move-ins within eighteen months. Her sales and marketing techniques have successfully increased the occupancy of an entire portfolio of assisted living communities. One struggling assisted living community increased their occupancy from 78% to 94% in six months, another was in the mid-80’s and went all the way to 100% occupancy.
She enjoys golfing, Disneyland, California beaches, traveling, bird watching, writing, hiking, camping, reading, scripture study, yoga and spending time with her family and two cats.
